Zero‐Sequence current measurement uncertainty in three‐phase power systems during normal operation

Zero-sequence currents in high-voltage power systems during normal operation can have a significant influence on nearby infrastructure. It is therefore necessary to gain insight into typical levels of zero-sequence variety operational situations. Measurements provide this insight. When performing measurements, one needs know the uncertainty associated with measurement draw accurate conclusions. The three different practical strategies measure are studied: direct and indirect strategy using current clamps oscilloscopes phasor units (PMU). Measurement studied two methods: by analytical expressions Monte Carlo simulations. Both methods give consistent outcomes for show same tendencies as function positive-sequence current. This paper studies error sources based realistic devices that could be used practice. following were found: strategy, primary transformers largest sources; PMU total vector source.
